Position Overview:
The Vice President of Consulting is responsible for shaping and leading the organization’s strategic advisory and creative services practices, creating a premium client experience, and ensuring execution excellence across our client engagements. This role will oversee both the consulting and creative teams to deliver strategy-first, high-impact, and creatively driven solutions that address client challenges such as market visibility, revenue generation, business repositioning, and brand evolution. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Consulting will build a market-leading advisory function that complements the organization’s product offerings, enhances its creative impact, and strengthens its reputation for thought leadership and client-centric excellence.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
You will be leading the strategic services, creative services, and project management teams. Within each of those teams:
- Develop and refine playbooks, templates, and frameworks that represent the Servant Way of serving customers and delivering the work.
- Establish best practices that empower the team to deliver on client requests for visibility, revenue generation, and digital transformation.
- Define clear roles, performance metrics, and accountability structures to ensure team alignment with the Servant mission and client objectives.
- Serve as a day-to-day escalation point for project issues, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
Client Project Leadership
- Lead teams to deliver value-driven, actionable strategies, supporting client goals like visibility, revenue growth, and digital storytelling, ensuring our work aligns with the client’s most important objectives and creates a demonstrative impact.
- Build strong client relationships as a trusted advisor, maintaining long-term partnerships and positioning Servant as a thought leader.
- Represent and amplify the voice of the client within Servant to maintain a ‘Client Centricity’ across all decision-making forums.
- Maintain a pulse on the health and customer sentiment of all engagements, forecasting escalations and proactively solving issues while identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities for revenue generation.
Project Management
- Oversee team that successfully delivers projects, ensuring they meet each engagement’s budget, scope, and timeline requirements.
Strategic & Creative Service Development
- Build a scalable portfolio of strategic advisory and creative services tailored to client needs, ensuring consistent quality and impact across engagements.
- Monitor market needs and proactively shape the team’s skill set through internal development or talent acquisition.
Executive Leadership and Collaboration
- Function as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, providing direction and decision-making for near-term issues and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Clearly own and operationalize the Servant Way of serving customers and delivering the work, ensuring every interaction aligns with our client-first, kingdom-based approach.
- Partner across departments to integrate client strategies with technical feasibility, growth opportunities, and product capabilities.
- Collaborate with members of the Executive Leadership Team to streamline cost and operational processes.
Operational and Financial Management
- Ensure business unit profitability by effectively managing employee downtime (bench time) and allocating talent across engagements.
- Forecast incoming work via the sales pipeline to ensure:
- Talent availability to serve clients.
- Proactive sourcing of contract services through Servant Talent.
- Efficient allocation of team members to maximize delivery and over-deliver on client needs.
- Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the Servant Way and track client success.
Direct Participation Expectations
- Actively involved with customers, maintaining a 50% billability rate.
- Travel up to 50% to support client relationships, team leadership, and business development activities.
